I never thought I'd smile while reading a short post by a great person who's just had a spinal tap. I am so glad the fluid was clear and I hope you are feeling 100% as soon as possible.

Henie, itsdae, and Luis, Thanks for your notes. I am already feeling much better. Not out of the woods yet, but nowhere near the level of pain and discomfort. Looking forward to finding my stride soon.

I thought you were kidding on twitter until you mentioned the ER- I mean who is on twitter while getiing a spinal tap? :-) Good to see you getting your legs again!
Richard, next year, if you'd like to indulge in the oh-so-American tradition of watching the Super Bowl, I think I speak for the whole community here...please, do so without the bother of a near-death experience.

And on the football thing I always think of Joseph Campbell talking about the spirituality of athleticism. I'm not much into sports ether.. but occasionally enjoy a good game.
Well that and I often thing of Hunter Thompson at the ESPN Sports desk and his obsession with gambling on everything in the game.
